Greyhound of the Month - Joey
Joey, or, Smilin’ Joe as he is known by his friends, is a talker and singer.

He is very well behaved, eats delicately, chewing every morsel to savour the flavour. When you take him out he walks beautifully on the lead. He is very vocal in his greetings and will ‘talk’ to you and answer even caring on a detailed and animated conversation. His operatic tone is something to behold when he is in full voice.
He only sings and talks when necessary and for 99% of the day he is happy just to watch the world go about its business from the comfort of his bed.
Joey wags his tail in a vertical manner, that’s right, it goes up and down rather than side to side which makes him the perfect pet for confined spaces!
However, it is Joey’s smiling ability that is his greatest charm. He gives a wide and toothy grin when he walks or bounds up to you, grins at all new friends and even smiles in his sleep. When you ask Joey how he is he breaks into his beaming grin, answers back with his tail going up and down, all in all, quite an experience to behold.
GAP NSW is not a rescue group - we do not take Greyhounds from the pounds, RSPCA etc. However we will work with them where possible. We have a lengthy waiting list of dogs being held by their racing owners until we have space in one of our foster homes.
