J.K Rowling Adopts a Greyhound

JK Rowling is keeping busy after finishing the Harry Potter books by adopting a rescue greyhound.

Staff at Celia's Greyhound Rescue in Scotland had no idea who JK was when she went along with her family to pick out a pooch pal for their Jack Russell terrier, Butch.

Owner Celia Fife only realised when JK signed a £1,000 cheque - £970 more than the home ask for - to adopt a four-year-old dog, called Sapphire.

Adopting a Greyhound

Countless numbers of greyhounds become available for adoption each year, and because the public are largely unaware of the magnificent warm and affectionate nature of these dogs they don't consider them as an alternative for a pet.

By generating a more positive perception of the breed, Greyhounds As Pets (GAP) aims to find responsible caring and loving permanent homes for these greyhounds who have truly earned their retirement.

All GAP greyhounds are Temperament Tested, Sterilised, C5 Vaccinated, Wormed, Micro Chipped and come with a lead, collar, muzzle and plenty of support from GAP.
